Your airport transfers, luxury accommodation, breakfasts and a dinner with us are all included to complement a range of package options for the magnificent K’gari (Fraser Island). You only need to sit back and enjoy the ride. And the scenery!

The Remote Fraser Explore package gives you the opportunity visit parts of heritage-listed K’gari many miss.

The Fraser Off-Road Tour with Dingo Dave offers you the chance to try your hand at four-wheel driving on the world’s largest sand island.

The Jetski package allows you to access the pristine west-side of K’gari by jetski… up close and personal.

The Fraser Flight and Dine package includes a private plane flight to Fraser Island, landing on the beach as well as a tour of the island before taking off over the gorgeous blue water to return to Hervey Bay.

All of these packages include airport transfers, two nights’ accommodation at the beautiful Aqua Aqua luxury apartments with continental breakfasts and a dinner for two at The Vinyard. All tours are hosted by experienced travel guides and include barge, air (or jetski) transport to K’gari as well as guided travel on the island.

The first Tuesday in November reminds us that summer is on its way, the year is coming to an end, and the festive season is almost upon us.

Love it or hate it, there’s no doubt the Melbourne Cup is a rare sporting event that – for many – is more about the occasion itself than its outcome – unless you’re a horse owner, trainer or have wagered a bit of money.

Sure we celebrate other sporting events in Australia: State of Origin football; the AFL grand final; and cricket tests, but they usually involve supporters donning their team colours, painting their faces and drinking beer from plastic cups.

The Melbourne Cup is an entirely different affair and yet again we’re offering you the perfect location to enjoy the festivities.

Sure, we’ll have the race on the big screen and we’ll offer up some sweeps; but let’s be honest…. the Melbourne Cup is just as much (if not more) about dressing up, spending time with friends and enjoying good food and a few drinks. Which is exactly what you can enjoy at The Vinyard this Melbourne Cup. On top of which, you’ll get to do it while enjoying one of the best views in Hervey Bay.

We’ll be serving canapés and drinks and have some great entertainment lined up from 12pm until 3pm, but of course, you’re welcome to stay on afterwards.

So, prepare to gather some friends and throw on your finest frock or most outrageous suit and add a fascinator or top hat and make a day of it. After all, it’ll be one of your last chances to kick back and relax before the busy holiday season is upon us and you’re overwhelmed with kids’ end of year sporting breakups and tedious school graduation ceremonies.

Although we loved our old look and it’s served us well for the past few years, we decided we wanted more.

Our stunning position – on the Esplanade at Urangan with unencumbered views of the beach, the iconic Urangan Pier, Fraser Island and the ocean beyond – has also meant we’ve been more exposed to the elements than we’d have liked.

Which called for a bit of a facelift. We’ve not changed anything our guests have come to know and love, so our great food and service will remain, but we’ve had a nip and tuck around the edges. Some ‘building botox’ if you will.

Our General Manager, Emily Rice-Phelut, said, “Weatherproofing the dining area means we can use it every single day. Rain or shine.”

Regular visitors will notice the smart but laid-back vibe remains; though perhaps there’s a sexier, more grown-up feel about the distinctive space.

“It was very important from an architectural perspective, that the increased undercover area didn’t feel like it had just been ‘added-on’ as we wanted the changes to remain true to the original aesthetic of the building,” Ms Rice-Phelut said.

“We take tremendous pride in the dining experience we offer guests, and one of our greatest assets is our location which has arguably the best views in the bay, so obstructing that as little as possible while maximising space, was essential.”

Local company, Win Constructions Queensland (WCQ) was responsible for the month-long renovation, using a range of local subcontractors and suppliers, and Ms Rice-Phelut said The Vinyard was pleased to be able to support other local businesses.

Of course better use of space means The Vinyard can now large functions, weddings and Christmas parties, and events are already being advertised on the website and Facebook page.

Our official ‘Reopening and Ready for Anything Party’ is on 10 October 2019, but feel free to visit us between now and then to check out our new look!
